A train protection system which, by means of inductive resonant circuits in the track and corresponding on-board equipment, checks in a timely manner whether train speeds are maintained, braking is applied and stop signals are observed. In the event of a fault, the system automatically applies the brakes and thus helps the drivers in their work by preventing train speeds from exceeding certain values imposed by safety requirements.
