Senior SAP BASIS Specialist
This professional will provide technical expertise in SAP BASIS, working as part of the SAP team responsible for the overall SAP landscape, including leading some S/4 implementation, planning, installation, configuration, maintenance and security of SAP systems like ECC, PI, Solution Manager, OpenText, etc.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the design and architecture of SAP S/4 and the integrations with other SAP and non-SAP applications;
- Lead the design, implementation and governance of SAP S/4 security policies, conducting regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies;
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to design and implement robust SAP S/4 infrastructure solutions, conducting regular performance controls;
- Plan, install, configure, maintain and support SAP instances, including development, test, pre-production and production environments;
- Support the governance of the SAP technical infrastructure, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery and system reliability;
- Design and implement SAP configurations to maximize system performance, availability and security;
- Collaborate with external consulting resources to support projects and address business needs;
- Conduct second and third-level support for BASIS-related incidents and manage incidents to resolution;
- Participate in SAP system upgrades, including planning, implementation and migration of maintenance activities (e.g. hot packages, kernel upgrades);
- Manage the SAP Correction and Transport System to maintain the integrity of the SAP environment;
- Develop and maintain system documentation and provide regular status reports to management;
- Define and implement security controls in the SAP landscape to enforce defined security policies;
- Ensure the implementation of the latest security solutions and standards in the SAP landscape;
- Ensure proactive security monitoring and immediate remediation of identified issues, threats and vulnerabilities in the SAP landscape;
- Coordinate with the System Integrator to ensure agreed technical standards are followed and the technical design is delivered as planned;
- Work closely with functional and business teams to support SAP solution requirements, including integration between SAP and non-SAP systems:
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage the security of integrated interfaces for SAP and non-SAP systems;
- Collaborate with consulting teams where necessary to deliver on project requirements and business objectives.
EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL AND PERSONAL SKILLS
- + 10 years in SAP BASIS administration, including implementation and support projects;
- Proven experience in S/4 roll-outs, serving as the Technical Lead in an S/4 implementation project;
- Deep understanding of S/4 architecture, processes and best practices, with hands-on experience;
- Experience with middleware technologies such as SAP BTP, SAP Integration suit (SAP CPI, etc.);
- Strong understanding of SAP technical architectures and integration between SAP and non-SAP systems;
- In-depth knowledge of SAP security best practices and guidelines, such as SAP Security Guide and SAP Security Optimization Service;
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines;
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and technology advancements.
